Because the American Dream has become an entitlement and an expectation, it being out of reach means that envy against ones neighbor will grow exponentially if it appears that others are achieving the Dream while one is not doing so personally. It will increasingly be seen as an injustice that we have disparities between those who are able to be better off than their parents versus those who are not. As such, there will be an increasing call to have public policies guarantee the American Dream that we believe everyone deserves. In such a society, a just society is one where everyone experiences the American Dream in exactly the same way because everyone deserves among the highest standards of comfort, easy of life, and success regardless of circumstances that were out of our control, gifts and abilities, or choices.
