Become a Sea Shepherd Operation Grindstop 2014 volunteer in the Faroe Islands. They are doing such great work .. In weather that would have turned anyone back to shore and safety, the crew of Sea Shepherd sailed out to meet a pod of 15-20 whales, many of them with calves, that entered Haraldssund Fjord, between the islands of Kunoy and Bordoy in the Northern part of the Faroe Islands. The whales were unknowingly wandering into a danger zone as the whale hunters waited to begin the Grind. But the land crew at Sea Shepherd saw an opportunity in the dangerous weather and set out to save the whales and escort them out of harms way in accordance with Faroese law. They were able to safely escort the entire whale pod back out to sea, completely foiling the whale hunter’s plans. Go Sea Shepherd :-)
