Believe it or not, lots of folks do not believe in the Trinity. - TopicsExpress

Believe it or not, lots of folks do not believe in the Trinity. Some entire denominations refuse to see the Trinity in the Bible. Trinity of course being Father, Son and Holy Ghost, the Godhead. Three seperate people and at the same time all one. It is a hard concept to grasp I agree. Being a hard concept to grasp is not a reason to deny that the Trinity exists. Others agree that the Trinity is a true doctrine but disagree that it can be located in the Old Testament. They report that the Trinity is a New Testament doctrine only. In view of these two concepts, lets take a look at Psalms 2. A careful reading of Psalms 2 reveals that there are 4 distinct entities speaking in this Psalm. The world speaks its mind first then the Father has a say, the Son speaks up and lastly, the Holy Ghost wraps it all up with a warning to us all that we should honor God, the Father, listen to and trust in the Lord, Christ Jesus. Psalm 2:1-12 (KJV) 1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, (Acts 4:25-27 describes the heathen are the gentile nations of the world and that the people represent israel. This would add up to be the entire earth, the world.) 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. (The world in this scripture says, we do not need nor do we want God, let us break those bands and bonds and do as we please. Romans 1: 20-23) 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. (Here God the father speaks saying he would mock them and laugh at them who have rejected Him and His Word, His Christ, Jesus.) (Proverbs 1: 24-33) 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. (Nahum 1:2-6) 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. (I will is speaking here. Look carefully at what He is sayiing. The Lord said Thou are my Son!!!!!) 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potters vessel. (Who is going to rule with a rod of iron? Revelation 19: 11-16) 10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. (Based on the previous scriptures here in Psalm 2, the Holy Ghost shares with us wise counsel to pay attention, fear God and hear the Son, Jesus. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. (fear and trembling mean just that ... fear, terror, horror, shaking and shuddering. NOT respect!!) 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him. (Kiss the SON, see that SON ... S ..O..N. God sent His only begotten SON. Kiss the Son [Jesus] lest he[God] be angry.) (Acts 3: 20-23 & Matthew 17:4-6) Psalms 2: •vs. 3 The world says we do not need God. •vs. 4 God says I will laugh at them for this decision. •vs 9 Jesus says I will break them with a rod of iron for this decision. •vs 12 The Holy Ghost says pay attention to what is being described here and take heed lest you fall into the same trap.
