Benjamin Naimark-Rowse and Richard Thurber will be teaching EXP-0040-F Theory and Practice of Nonviolent Resistance. Benjamin is a Truman National Security Fellow and a PhD candidate at The Fletcher School. Ive directed public opinion research projects including interviewing Egyptian revolutionaries in Tahrir Sq and Darfurian refugees in eastern Chad. Ive observed elections in Nicaragua and managed police and prison reform projects in Latvia, Mexico, Nigeria, Peru, and South Africa. Ive been lucky enough to have traveled to over 60 countries and unlucky enough to have been detained in a Mexican prison. Richard is a Ph.D. candidate at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a Research Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center. He has conducted field research in Nepal and interviewed former Maoist guerrillas and nonviolent movement leaders.
