Benjamin is a few days into his 2 week quarantine. Mike and Ben - TopicsExpress

Benjamin is a few days into his 2 week quarantine. Mike and Ben are making the most of his hospital room with this awesome fort. The infection that made him spike a fever a few days ago was c-diff caused by his antibiotics. The poor kid is directly next to the playroom and he isnt allowed to leave his room. The child life specialists desk is in the next room and they have codes on what type of toys he wants by knocking on the walls. My brother and the staff really try to make it fun for Ben! The team of doctors including his transplant team met and reviewed Bens latest MRI. Theyve concluded that they really dont know what the spot is. They will continue on as planned with preparation for his stem cell transplant. They will be doing a number of tests like an EKG and hearing among others. They will do another MRI the day before the transplant. This will be huge. We dont have an exact timeline but we believe that it will be in about 3 weeks. The MRI can show 1 of 3 things. The spot can be gone, it could still be there but be the same size, or it could have grown. If it is gone or the same size they will proceed with the transplant. If it grows then that means that the chemo isnt working against this tumor and we start at square one. The doctor said if this spot was in the same location of the other tumor then that alone would have put a stop to the transplant. The fact that it was an inch away has them puzzled. So Ill keep everyone posted on a timeline when we have an idea. Thanks for all your prayers and support. They are so truly appreciated by my entire family. Auntie Kelly Xoxo #goben #cancersucks
