Best Friend comes through again! My Best Friend proved his value nearly 4 years ago.....December 23, 2010 at 3:30 in the morning. FIVE unwelcome visitors decided to visit and do some Christmas shopping at my home. HARLEY woke my wife and I, my wife was able to calmly assess the threat from our bedroom window while I prepared a welcome gift from Ruger and Winchester. HARLEY became instantly silent when I hushed him and he sat next to me as I prepared the warming gifts for our guests. DEBBIE requested I put the leash on Harley, knowing he would chase the intruders to who knows where, if I didnt. He joined me as I went to the rear of the house where our guests were gathering for their grand entrance. He sat silently next to back door staring at it as I put on my boots, put round one in the chamber and released the safety. As I yanked the door open....my unwelcome guests were startled by my greeting and my announcement of what I had planned for them......Harley snapped his leash in half as he took off to grab one of our visitors as he scampered over our fence.......They all left and never even sang us the Christmas Carol that I was sure that they had planned for us. As I re-entered the house Debbie asked if she should then call 911 and asked why I hadnt used the leash as she had requested. I showed her that I indeed had used the leash.....I still had my half in my hand and Harley had his half dragging behind him as he followed me into the house. From that night on, Debbie has never once complained about Harley in the bedroom and she is never out of his sight when she is home.
