Beyond tragic - this is so shocking inhuman and barbaric I do not believe this is happening in TODAYS supposedly modern India, in a state that has been showcased as a model of fast development by a Caring CM who calls himself Bhaiya to his people. Poor women herded like cattle to a dirty, abandoned hospital, made to lie down on the floor while an ACE(??) Gynaecologist, Dr. Agrawal, who has been felicitated by the CM carries out one laproscopic tubectomy (Family planning operation) in a record FOUR minutes...Woman is immediately sent home afterwards...no post operative, or for that matter pre operative check ups, no follow up check....result: Twelve women died that very day....dozens of others critical; ALL women sterilized in hospital with infections. (Blood poisoning). And believe this or not - SAME LAPROSCOPE USED IN ALL 83 SURGERIES...AND LOOKING AT THE RECORD TIME, NO STERILIZATION DONE AT ALL. Has the Doctor been arrested yet?? You bet not!!!! Some other Govt junior fellows who may not have been present on the scene even have been suspended by CM Bhaiya.... who will of course not touch his good friend whom he just felicitated - remember?? This is Chattisgarh.... a state mostly inhabited by tribals. Is this the path ahead we shall see the country taking? Damn the poor, the dalit .....and mostly damn the WOMEN.
