Bill Davis You may think you have a good reason to prioritize your lifes activity around your family and career. They are both important, however failing your duty to be an informed voter will be detrimental to that family, career and retirement you value. The safety of our air and water, the viability of our democracy, the land we travel are all in jeopardy. Your future and that of our grand-children will not amount to much if you dont start paying attention. Society, indeed the world, is nearing a tipping point. Global warming and income inequality are the most dangerous issues we face today. The several weather events we have recently witnessed, forest fires, droughts, hurricanes, floods are only going to get worse without acting on issues contributing to global warming. Injustice is stoking fires of revolt seen in the Arab Spring, the Occupy Movement, demonstrations against racial inequality and labor strikes against poverty wages. The entire world needs people to get engaged to solve these problems. They wont go away by themselves. There are cancers growing that need to be excised from the public body, but it will take a BIG knife that can only be lifted by a grassroots army, including you. You could visit movetoamend.org, independentvoting.org, or other sites seeking to fix our electoral process and sites concerned with the environment like sierraclub.org. Economically speaking, we spend so much on healthcare, fixing that would be a BIG DEAL contributing to solving many other issues like school and government funding, employment and more. Insurance companies have an important role to play in our economy, but taking the cut they do on health insurance is bleeding us dry. Visit healthcare-now.org, pnhp.org and spanohio.org and hcfao.org to learn about solving an American health and political issue that every other industrialized country has already solved. When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. Do your duty. Learn to vote smart and show up at the polls every election. The future depends on it, literally.
