Bill MacPhee @Bill_MacPhee Signing a Petition The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is the standard classification of mental disorders used by mental health professionals in the United States and contains a listing of diagnostic criteria for every psychiatric disorder recognized by the U.S. healthcare system. The DSM is maintained by a body of members. One of their functions is to keep the manual current. Those members responsible for the DSM have the power to make this campaign a reality. By showing your support in this movement and signing this petition it will show them that we are tired of the stigma and embarrassment that surrounds the name schizophrenia and that we are finally ready for a change and the move to a brighter future. A long list of supporters will go a long way to convince them to make this change. Let’s Change the Name and thus change the face of mental illness.
