“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” - TopicsExpress

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8 Only God can see the heart. There are people that look like they have it all together on the outside, but their hearts are corrupt. There are also people who appear to have nothing going on to the human eye, but to God, their hearts are pure. We can never judge someone’s character just by looking at them. We must let our greatest desire be for God to purify our hearts and to keep it pure until Jesus returns for us. More than praying for wealth, promotion or material possessions, we must pray for a pure heart, pray for right motives, pray for a constant longing to please God, and to glorify Him in everything we do. Why pray for a pure heart? We pray for a pure heart because every action and behavior flows from the condition of our heart. Sin in our hearts completely ruins our fellowship with God. It doesn’t break our relationship with Him, but it hinders our communion with Him. Sin makes us feel distant like a husband and wife standing on opposite sides of a large room. How do we draw close to God and be at peace with Him again? The only way to restore broken fellowship with a holy God is through true repentance. As a side note, the only way to restore broken fellowship between two people is through true repentance from the heart. When we repent from our hearts, God rushes near us as to say, “I was waiting for you to do that so I could forgive you, wash you, cleanse you, and set you right!” We have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus, but if we never take advantage of the power of His blood to wash us and cleanse us, we will remain on the opposite side of that room looking sad and miserable. God loves you way too much to let you stay over there. Don’t allow any sin to keep you separated from Him for another second. Repent and surrender your heart to God and He will gladly wash you, purify your heart, and set you at peace with Him. He will bring every impurity to the surface of your heart and will wash it all away in one loving swipe. There’s nothing like having a clean heart, a new mind, and a restored fellowship with a loving God.
