Bob Everhart of the Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame, just filed this wonderful story in his TRADITIONAL BULLETIN. Check it out, Friends! Heres another internet visit. Finally got the full hour of Slim Forsythes new television show from the Neid Hotel in Pennsylvania. Slim came to the festival in Lemars in 2014, had a grand time, and there may even be a possibility of his bringing his band back with him next year. The bands name is the Beagle Brothers, who switch back and forth from an electric honky-tonk band (very very good) to an acoustic band (very very very good), and youll see that in the TV pilot Slim sent me. Its a super good show, lots of Slims original songs, and lo and behold, what I learn every day. Stephen Foster was born in the same town as the Neid Hotel, and is buried in a cemetery there. Slim, very wisely, closed his television pilot with Hard Times Come Again No More, which was a classic finale, incredible harmony, and then the audience joined in. Super super neat. One of his guest performers was Molly Alphabet, who turned in a really well done song or two. Slim also does a super neat job of emceeing the program, with cut-ins talking to the band about how they met, etc. I really like this kind of format. Not sure how many cameras they were using, but some of the shots were absolutely dynamite. Dino Distefano helped Slim put it all together, so a big thank you to Dino for doing such a nice job. Tune it in, took me a little while to get it downloaded, but I sure enjoyed it. youtube/watch?v=mxJyRTQF-Gg
