Bob and I actually ventured out of our neighborhood and went to the remodeled Majestic movie theater. Wow, that is very, very nice. Those recliners are almost too comfortable--I saw Bob fall asleep a couple of times. I, on the other hand, couldnt take my eyes off of the screen. We saw a movie you may not have even heard of, Dallas Buyers Club. Matthew McConaughey lost almost 50 lbs for the role of a rodeo cowboy who is told he is has AIDs. Based on a true story, the movie is set in the mid-1980s when the epidemic was starting to affect a broader range of people. In this movie, the FDA and the pharmaceutical companies are the villains, and many people took their fate and health into their own hands. This movie is definitely not for everyone. No exploding cars or gun battles. A very serious subject. But an incredible, almost jaw-dropping performance from McConaughey.
