Bonnie Forney and I are Urban Homesteaders. We straw-bale garden & have increased the amount of straw-bales every year. We have four Rhode Island Red hens for wholesome brown eggs. We have three commercial compost bins. We also deep litter compost in the chicken pen. The hens have 56 square feet of cage, thats over 10 square feet per hen. We wish we could let them free range, but we live in town. We also have a greenhouse and grow some indoor plants, including onions, year round. We grow sprouts in jars, and supplement the chickens fed with sprouts. We have a small antique shop. We collect rainwater for the garden. I build custom bicycle cars as a hobby. We plan to put out solar cells back in use in 2015, enough at least to power our electric mower and lawn tools. We recycle as much as possible. All good things to do.
