Borno state government has confirmed that 54 bomb victims are on admission in the aftermath of Tuesday’s suicide bombing in Maiduguri. 14 people were critically injured in the incident, while 20 have been discharged from hospital. Executive Secretary, Hospital Management Board, Salisu Bura disclosed this while briefing Governor Kashim Shettima during his visit to the victims at the hospital in Maiduguri. The hospital authorities also noted that 24 bodies were brought to the hospital. Speaking after going round the hospital, Shettima described the bombers as wicked especially as they targeted children and women.
