Borrowed (thanks, E.) . . . our kids and southern border issue may go way back . . . Jimmy Carter is implicated in the assassination of El Salvadors Oscar Romero, that the Reagan-backed slaughter of indigenous in Guatemala has been labeled a genocide by the UN (which means, among other things, that the US was behaving in a way that was contrary to international law), and the impact of the Central American Free Trade Agreement on Central America. He also should have mentioned by name the Obama administrations relationship to the 2009 US sponsored coup in Honduras. Personally, I might have noted, too, that the US has a history of paying attention to what is legal and what is illegal only when it suits us, as for example when the US failed to abide by the ruling of the World Court in the case of Nicaragua v. US and we continued the Contra counter-revolution against the Sandinista government in Nicaragua.
