Botswana Prisons Services have warned members of the public to be on the look-out for four inmates who escaped from Kanye prison on Saturday. Prisons spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Wamorena Ramolefe, told The Voice this morning that the prisoners could be dangerous and that one of them was a repeat offender facing two murder charges. “All the four men were on remand and we’re still carrying out investigations to establish how they escaped. We have our escape follow up team on their trail and we’re working with the police and other security agents,” he said. The four men Daniel Seitiso (27), of Kanye, Mooketsi Ramonwana (28) of Mabutsane, Kgotso Kgaodi (22) of Molapowabojang and Mmusi Motsoko (33) of Kanye are alleged to have carefully hatched their escape plan which they executed at 11am under the unsuspecting noses of the jail guards. Seitiso was incarcerated on May 19 this year for the murder of his girlfriend. At the time of the offence the unemployed Seitiso had been on bail for another murder that he committed in Kang. Ramonwana, Kgaodi and Motsoko are facing rape and stock theft, bar breaking and theft and house breaking and theft respectively.
