Branwen Okpako, the writer and director of The Education of Auma Obama, was a visiting guest lecturer at Earlham this spring and provided one-on-one mentorship to aspiring student filmmakers in a workshop on navigating identity in documentaries. “I feel like she has the same kind of diverse background that many Earlham College students have,” says Nhi Dinh 16. “She was born in Nigeria, went to a United World College in England and went to Germany for film school. That’s been really helpful to me.”
