Make it your practice to withdraw attention from past and future whenever they are not needed" Resistance is the mind, the unobserved mind, You are the silent watcher of all those tapes going on in the head those old repetitive thought patterns, when you observe them you are not identifying with them, they are just thoughts, to become present use your sense perceptions, sounds, sight, hearing etc.. without labeling or judging anything, just look, hear, with no mental commentary,then you will find all unecessary compulsive thinking stops, maybe for a few seconds or so, as you practice this the gaps of no mind become longer. This is called being conscious, all unecessary suffering begins to dissolve....
