Breaking News: Firefighters with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection are battling a vegetation fire that has grown to 10-to-15 acres near Highway 140 and Howard Road, between Livingston and Stevinson. Cal Fire Division Chief Mark Lawson said firefighters responded to the blaze at 10:50 a.m. Saturday. No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged. The fire is the third large vegetation fire reported this week in Merced County. Two vegetation fires were reported earlier this week on Merced County’s Westside, between Gustine and Los Banos.
