Brewing Crisis at Labour Party! March 21, 2014 at 2:26pm 20/03/2014. The National Chairman, Labour Party (LP), Labour Party National Secretariat, Suite 206,207, Dabo Shopping Mall, Samuel Akintola Boulevard, Garki 11, Abuja. Dear Sir, 1. PETITION AGAINST THE ACTIVITIES OF MR PETER ADEJOBI; THE FCT CHAIRMAN OF LABOUR PARTY(LP). 2. NEED FOR APPROPRIATE DETERRENT SANCTIONS. We are faithful and committed members of Labour Party(LP) with membership cards number 0388201, 0388919 and 0388923. We reside in Kubwa Ward of Bwari Area Council, Karu Ward of Abuja Municipal Area Council and Ouarters Ward of Gwagawalada Area Council, respectively. The activities of the FCT Chairman of our great party, Mr. Peter Adejobi have become worrisome, a threat to the growth of our party and internal social democratic norms. Mr. Peter Adejobi is defrauding the party by refusing to allow aspirants in the forthcoming FCT Congresses to purchase nomination forms. We have it on good authority and call on you to investigate that Mr. Peter Adejobi gave out nomination forms free of charge to the following Comrade members of our party; (a.) Baba Yakini-FCT Treasurer (b) Ben Anyanwu (FCT Auditor), (c) Isa Likita-FCT Secretary, (d) Honest Emetole-Admin Staff of LP. (e) All incumbent 6 Area Councils Labour Party Chairmen. This act has robbed the Party of thousands of Naira that could have been used to build the party. This fragrant abuse of the Guidelines For Ward, Local Government And State Congresses 2014, is calculated by Mr. Peter Adejobi to curry favour from these men to enable him manipulate the electioneering process ahead of the State Congress; an act that runs against the avowed provisions of LP Constitution and our cardinal philosophy of “EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE” Furthermore, this act is a direct disrespect of the provisions of the LP Constitution and resolution of NEC that spelt out the guidelines for the conduct of State Congresses. We call for appropriate deterrent disciplinary action(s) against Mr. Peter Adejobi as failure by the National Leadership of our great party to do so, will set bad example of disregard to NEC decision with impunity. We have our fears that if these activities of Mr. Peter Adejobi are not checked, it will affect the smooth conduct of FCT Congresses and will plunge our peaceful party into crisis not limited to litigation. A crisis is brewing in Labour Party as two days to Ward Congress, we are not aware of the names of the members of Ward Congress Screening Committee or is there any published list of names of Comrades who have bought nomination forms to contest any office at the Ward level. Above is also applicable to Council and State Congresses; the State Working Committee has not set up any Committee that will screen candidates. We appeal that strict adherence to the provisions of the Guidelines For Ward, Local Government And State Congresses 2014 be followed in the conduct of all Congresses in FCT. We appeal to you to use your good office to see to it that financial discipline is maintained in our party and let there be proper audit of the FCT Party Account before any Congress is done in FCT, as Congress marks the end of an administrative life and the birth of a new one. Yours Faithfuly Comrade Shedrack Seth Comrade Ogburu Chinedu Comrade Haruna Mohammed
