Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY received a $78,000 fine Monday after a federal investigation found the facility failed to protect its workers from violent patients and falling equipment. “This is something that’s of serious concern for our members, not only at Brookdale, but at other institutions because they face this sort of workplace violence every day,” said 1199 SEIU spokeswoman Helen Schaub. via New York Daily News
