Bruce – Thank you for the email regarding Governor Walker’s State of the State Address. I appreciate the time you took to contact me, as I always enjoy hearing from constituents. The address came as great news to Wisconsin residents. Through practicing fiscal responsibility, we have moved from a multi-billion dollar deficit to a nearly one billion dollar surplus. I am in full agreement with Governor Walker that this surplus should be rightfully returned to Wisconsin taxpayers through income and property tax cuts. I fully support Governor Walker’s Blueprint for Prosperity and can assure you I will be working hard to make these cuts a reality. Again, thank you for your contact regarding the state surplus and the need for continued property and income tax cuts. If I can ever be of assistance to you with state-related issues, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Samantha Kerkman State Representative 61st Assembly District Follow me on Facebook Bruce Francart Sent: Monday, January 27, 2014 5:55 PM To: Rep.Kerkman Subject: Constituent Letter Dear Rep. Samantha Kerkman, It was great news to hear that Wisconsin now has an unprecedented surplus of nearly a billion dollars. I am writing to ask that you use the surplus to CUT MY TAXES. After years of budget deficits, tax hikes and spending increases in the billions, our economy was in shambles, and we were struggling to come out of the recession. We’ve gone from a 3.6 billion dollar deficit to a nearly $1 billion surplus. There’s no arguing with those results . It’s obvious the policies Governor Walker and the legislature have enacted - to cut our taxes and put more money in back in our pockets - are working to turn our state’s economy around. I support the plans Governor Walker laid out in his State of the State address to use out surplus to cut taxes; and as your constituent, I want you to support these cuts and work with Governor Walker to make them become a reality. Those billion dollars are taxpayer dollars, and they should come back to us. Please don’t take us back to the big-spending, big-taxing days of the past. Please use the surplus to CUT MY TAXES.
