Burung ini, burung cantik. Kuau Raja (Argus Pheasant or Great Argus) This gorgeous bird is one of Indonesias most distinct birds that live within the forests. The Argus Pheasant is a large bird found in Sumatra and Kalimantan. In fact the Great Argus is the bird mascot for the province of West Sumatra. This bird weighs roughly 10 kilograms (with males measuring roughly 120cm and females measuring in at half the males size) and its feathers have a distinct pattern of dots that appear to be hundreds of eyes. There are two distinctively long tail feathers longer than the rest. The Argus is a flightless bird with powerful legs that allows it to jump into tree branches. This elusive bird builds its nests on the ground. Despite its elusiveness the Argus is listed as threatened due to being hunted for their feathers and meat.
