C-Team players and Parents, I know this is long, (especially for football players,) but please read this and let me know who will be doing what in the offseason. After reflecting on the year, One of my goals is to give Coach Wentland and Coach Jefferson the makings of an undefeated JV team. We have went 20+ in a row before our first loss last year. So I know it is possible. This year was an amazing year for our C-team players. Our wins and losses do not reflect the level of improvement that occurred. Many of you had never played football before and will go into your sophomore season with as much experience as some who have played two or three years. Ask yourself if that is going to be enough. With the end of the semester and the holiday season coming, it is normal for young freshman football players to slack off a little on workouts. It takes time to adjust to new expectations and high school in general. So I understand many of you not working out or doing another sport. Plus, everyone needs a break. Come January though, you will have a full semester of High School, and will know whats what. I expect much more from those of you not wrestling, or playing hockey or playing basketball. This year we did not have one 10th grader on C-Team. This was the first time that has ever happened in the history of Patriot Football. While there are always freshman on the JV-team or Freshman who get time in the game, it is good to remember that in life there are no guarantees, and that a spot on the JV team does not happen simply because you are in the 10th grade. You have to earn it. You have to work for it. You have to own it. If you dont want to work for it, that is alright, enjoy your time off and relax. Just remember. Except for this year, there have always been 10th graders on the Patriot Football C-team, and there have always been 9th graders who play in the JV games. #HardWorkWinsGames #DedicationPaysOff
