CADDO NATION INFILTRATED BY RICHARD GRELLNER AND MIKE COPPERTHITE THROUGH ILLEGAL GOVERNOR BRENDA EDWARDS ~ CADDO TRIBAL MEMBER SPEAKS OUT I just have to say something that has been on my mind the last few days. As Caddo people, we all want the same things for our tribe: fairness, transparency, and progress. Im sorry that as Tribal Council members we had to resort to taking matters in to our own hands with this current situation but we had reached an impasse with the former chairman (and the BIA) so something had to be done to stop the abuse, the people demanded it! I will be the first to admit that mistakes have been made but we are human and that is to be expected. Sometimes feelings get hurt or someone gets angry with us for decisions that have been made but its not easy to collectively represent 5000+ tribal members without a little discord. This is one of the reasons why we have monthly membership meetings; we depend on your input and expect you all to set us straight if we are not doing our job. Right now is a very stressful time for all of us; tribal programs are in limbo, we are short staffed, and many services are not being provided because the former Chairman is holding your money hostage. We, along with a small staff of dedicated employees are doing our best to administer the services we have left but there is more work than bodies. Our government is not set up in such a way where the Tribal Council has been cross-trained on the job duties of our employees, so it has been a learning experience for all of us - please continue to bear with us! We truly appreciate all of the support that has been shown to us over the last few months and we really would appreciate your continued prayers for the Caddo Nation. J. Reeder
