CAN MARY INTERCEDE FOR YOU? The Mother of Jesus lives in the - TopicsExpress

CAN MARY INTERCEDE FOR YOU? The Mother of Jesus lives in the glories of Heaven. She is not God. Therefore, she is not present on earth, she is unaware of earth events and she is incapable of doing anything for our planet. Prayers to her violate God’s will, and true Christians worship the Creator, not the creature. This is God’s commandment: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them.” (Exodus 20:1-5). Prayer is the ultimate form of worship, and praying to Mary is an act of worship prohibited by the Lord God. In addition, the Scriptures assert that only God can mediate with God. Therefore, the dead, including Mary, cannot mediate for the living. Indeed, the Lord Jesus rejected His mother’s intercession (John 2:1-5). Only the God-Man, the Lord Jesus Christ can intercede on behalf of those that come to Him: “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1Timothy 2:5). The Lord Jesus is the only Mediator capable of interceding on behalf of sinners. For this reason He demanded that prayers would be made in His Name: John 14:13 Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. John 15:16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. John 16:23 [ Prayer Promises ] In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. John 16:24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. Friend, come to the Lord Jesus with all your requests. He promised to receive all that come to Him by faith: “the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.” (John 6:37). Respond to His invitation: “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
