CATCH THE LATEST FISHING REPORT!!! Our Houseboat crews and tackle shop customers have a mixed bag of weather this week, we have seen some good catches of fish and mud crabs landed. Over the Anzac long weekend we have seen some nice catches of Bream, Flathead and a few Whiting coming for the Neverfails, Tipplers Passage, Jacobs Well, Whalleys Gutter, Tiger Mullet Channel, Canaipa Passage, Short Island and the Coomera River. As the weather cools down the Bream will just get bigger and better and the best fish will be caught at night. With the Westerly winds here it is prime time to chase Tailor both in the Broadwater and off the beaches of Stradbroke Island. We have seen the number of fish and the quality getting better during the last 6 weeks. For beach fishing you will find a large number of gutters scattered along the length of South Stradbroke Island, they will all be worth a go. Try to fish the incoming tide as the gutter fills up the Tailor will enter the gutters chasing bait fish. Good schools of Tailor have been working the bait around the Jumpinpin Bar, North Bedrooms, Canaipa Passage, Gold Coast Seaway, Crab Island and Currigee Channels are all worth a try. Either Dawn or Dusk is the best time catch a feed. The Houseboats are still reporting some nice Mud Crabs and Sand Crabs on the chew in the Coomera River, Tipplers Passage, Jacobs Well, Tiger Mullet Channel and the mouth of the Logan River. Being up to date with the rules and regulations when fishing in Queensland is very important if you are looking at keeping a feed of fish and crabs. We do recommend you take the time to be well informed on how big a fish should be, bag limits or what crabs you are legally allowed to keep before you go fishing. If you follow the rules you will have a great day out and look after the future of fishing, don’t get caught out. We recommend you follow the link to Queensland Fisheries website to view current regulations. daff.qld.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/rules-regulations You can pick up a rule book from us at Coomera Bait & Tackle free of charge. Don’t forget the Camera to capture the memory of your fantastic catch. The weather forecast for the weekend sees the Westerly winds start to make an appearance W-NW at 15 to 20 knots and plenty of Sunshine. Good Luck to everyone Fishing this weekend. If you have any great catches to report give us a call 07 5502 6200 or fishing photos please email them to [email protected] Brett
