CHELSEA NEED TO ACTIVATE RELEASE CLAUSE TO SIGN PORTO DEFENDER Portugal club Porto have stated that any potential buyer will have to trigger Eliaquim Mangala’s release clause to take him away inthe summer. Chelsea are thought to be heavily interested in the player. New manager Jose Mourinho has made the 22-year-old as one of his prime targets of the summer as he prepares to find a long term replacement for skipper John Terry. Further, there are doubts over the future of David Luiz, who is targeted by Barcelona andPSG. It has been reported that Mourinho has doubts over the defensive ability of the Brazilian and might sell him in the summer. Mangala has a reported £42.4m release clause in his contract at the Estadio do Dragao and Porto will only sit in the negotiation table if his release clause is met by any club. “This footballer only leaves our club if someone pays the release clause,” said PintoDa Costa as quoted by Sky Sportsvia A Bola. The youngster who joined the club last season and made an instant impact, would be a natural fit at Chelsea and has the potential to develop into a world class playerin future.
