CITIZENS FOR THOUGHTFUL GROWTH WPB CHAPEL BY THE LAKE CONDO UPDATE SAVE THE DATE! OCTOBER 28, 2013 -CITY COMMISSION MEETING – 5:00 PM AT CITY HALL The Project is scheduled for a final vote by the City Commission. Monday October 28. 5 PM at City Hall – Corner of Clematis and Dixie Highway. WE NEED YOU TO LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD AGAIN! The developer told the Editorial Board of the Palm Beach Post that the Commission “did them a favor” by voicing concerns and they now think that this is a better project! This better project is for TWO buildings AND more square footage! In published material he also asks that his supporters “…Outlast the vocal minority who have tried to Outshout those who speak for responsible growth for the City of West Palm Beach.” Funny, we don’t recall hearing anyone shouting. In letters sent to the Mayor and Commissioners opposing the project, writers have been reasonable and respectful in making their points. Speakers opposing the project at the marathon meetings of the Planning Board and City Commission have also been voices of reason, sound logic and have shown a great deal of respect! Shouting has never been evidenced! WHAT HAS CHANGED: The revised plans submitted to the City are for TWO TOWERS instead of one. The one massive tower has been divided into two massive towers. The north tower is the same height as originally proposed (354 feet 6 inches) the South tower just floor less. It appears that they have increased the total square footage, also. The separation between the two towers is ~ 95 feet. WHAT REMAINS UNCHANGED: The footprint or pedestal under both buildings remains the same. All setback waiver requests remain the same. Overall height remains the same. Waiver request for property size remains the same. NEXT STEPS: Familiarize yourself with the proposed project changes. Contact the Mayor and Commissioners by phone or email express your concerns, and urge them to vote against this massive Mistake on the Lake!
