COMMON PITFALLS TO AVOID IN MARRIAGE Marriage journey begins with a desire or a sense of need in an individual for a life partner with whom to share life in an intimate way. GOD has created every man with this innate feeling and it manifests naturally through maturity,inner urge or a compelling feeling for a life partner when the time comes. As we seek to know the will of God, these are some pitfalls to avoid in the choice of a life partner which as follows:- 1. We should not walk by sight. To walk by sight is to determine the suitability of an intending partner through his/her material possession and secular position. The good brain and hand to make money does not gurantee the possession of good heart which makes a good home. 2. We should not preempt God. In other words, a heavy independence. Preempting God lead to confusion. There should be sincere seeker in either to open to whatever channel God decides to use to speak whether through a still small voice in the heart, a strong mind -dominating affection for a particular person is not LUST that lead to fornication. Or Revelation, Dream,and vision. 3. We should removed every idol from the heart . We should pre-fix ur minds on a particular person asking only dat God should rubber-Stamp him/her for us like samson. Bewise 4. Under no circumstance shouldnt a true believer marry a non believer. God prohibits unequal yoke in marriage. Some say,it does matter whether the person attends church or not. 5. We should avoid the carnal practice of allowing others to pick partners for us. God is still our perfect matchmaker. Some run back to the village to get married to people they know little about . Other dating sites and social media. In doing so,they feel that they are smart and cutting short what they consider to be a long procedure by the church. They avoid serious prayer and close scruting of spiritual leaders whom God has set over them. In time, they reap the bitter fruits of unhappy and burdensome marriage.
