COMMUNITY AWARENESS GRANTS TO BOOST ORGAN DONATION Senator Fiona Nash, the Assistant Federal Minister for Health, has announced that $463,000 is available to promote community awareness and education activities in support of organ and tissue donation. These Community Awareness Grants aim to highlight the importance of a well informed family discussion about donation decisions. Organ and tissue donations save lives and can bring comfort to donor family members after the loss of a loved one and helps bring something positive to the family during a difficult time. More needs to done to support families and indviduals in coming to these decisions given that we need to boost organ and tissue donations in Australia. The closing date for submissions is Monday 20th October 2014. For more information, see the link below
