CORNISH RESIDENTS!! time getting closer for the town meeting MOnday March 17 7pm.e to vote for the black granite monument to be placed at Cornish Fairgrounds .. I must warn you all that the town office are going to give this a hard issue to get thru.I was really shocked at the town office calling Collettes Monuments about flooding at the fairgrounds..Collettes do not want to be involved in this dispute but gave the town answers..but I already told the town office and selcetman Collettes told our committee if there was any flooding you can raise the monument above it,,but last summer when a member and I looked fairgrounds over she had on her cell phone photos of the fairground area around the concert area in the spring time and there was no water in that area,,so please be aware that instead of the town office helping to get the monument up ,they are going to be telling things to turn town folks off,,this is so shameful!! this is only a piece of property which our committee over the last year looked into town properties and got the PROS to look at what is the better place for the monument,,we gave this information at the public meeting,,and to selcetman..Collettes Monuments know what is the safest place for a monument,,this is part of their job..you can set it anywhere but they will tell you if its safe or not,,our committee go by the PROS and we donot want to set it anywhere,,this is a one time thing and has to be done correctly..if you go to the meeting which we hope you do please dont let the town office negative issues stop you from voting the right way..we only hope this goes well for everyone,,thank you!! please come to vote at 7pm we are the third article,,also polls will be open 2-6 to vote on selectmans seat, water company ect.Calista
