The Art Nouveau in Europe Conceptual Exhibition features the work of The Paul Hankar Institute’s Interior Design Students. This presentation explores the Art Nouveau style in Europe. For this project the students were inspired by how iron, a rough and functional material, took on a specific, lighter aesthetic dimension during the Art Nouveau period. Working with cardboard, an everyday material, the young people transformed boxes into new entities, thus making the observer look at this contemporary object in a different light. ENGAGE Arts Festival wishes to acknowledge The Gallery, Kinsale in association with Irish in Europe Community ambassador, Roos Demol, for curating this double exhibition from The Paul Hankar Institute.
