The scattered dreams of a lost America lay burning across the land like the flaming ashes of war, and very few unfortunate survivors still cling to a handful of soldiers dedicated to helping them get by in this living hell. Sounds as depressing as an Eminem song, doesn’t it? Well, you’d be not too off for thinking so. This not so cheerful picture is only magnified by music provided by Eminem, whose song “Survival” has been used to promote the game since its reveal conferences earlier this year. “Survival” as well as the entire album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 will now be available for discount to those who want more depressing lyrics and angry rap to back up the empty feelings of Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ story. The GameStop exclusive pre-order bonus will provide a code on the receipt that will knock down The Marshall Mathers LP 2 to $8.99. Eminem is totally on board with this deal. “The energy and intensity of ‘Survival’ really matches Call of Duty: Ghosts,” he said in a press release. “I’m excited to continue to be a part of the franchise.” Any takers? I haven’t really listened to Eminem since high school, and music is not my nostalgic forte. However, “Survival” does give me the same angry blood rush I felt listening to him as a teenager. The man is good at what he does, and it’s like he never left. How much time that has gone by since I first saw 8-Mile? Boy do I feel old now. Thanks Activision. Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available on Nov. 5 for the Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and PC. Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 builds will be available at the launch each respective console.
