Cargo vessel Mohammed H capsized in Varna Port, Black sea Posted on Monday 12th of May 2014 Mohamed H, a general cargo vessel, has capsized in Black Sea. The incident happened yesterday while the vessel was being loaded with bagged soda at Varna Port (Bulgaria) berth 14. Mohamed H lost stability because of cargo dislocation. According to Bozhidar Chaparov, Varna Port Executive, the area around the capsized vessel has been secured. No crew member was injured. The vessel has 30,000 tons of fuel on board. Mohamed H has been surrounded by booms to prevent any oil leakage. According to Chaparov, an oil skimmer has been dispatched to the scene. Preliminary investigations showed the incident happened because the intermediate conditions of freight operations sustainability were violated. Eyewitnesses said the crew members had been jumping in panic while the vessel had been listing. Currently, the vessel is being unloaded from its right side (the listed one). According to the authorities, the unloading will take several days. Mohamed H (IMO number 8605193 and MMSI 214181926) has crew of 16 Syrian. The 6,700-ton vessel is registered in Moldova and is managed by HMK Ships & Boats Trading Co (UAE). Mohamed H was built in 1986. R/ vesselfinder
