Cedar the bobcat was actually initially rescued by Wolf Haven Animal Care staff back in 2009. We were there to pick up two wolves (Pahana and his mother) from the abandoned property. An hour before arriving, the Sheriff who had been doing welfare checks on the wolves discovered a bobcat living in filth under the front porch and asked us if we could take him too. We had never caught up a bobcat before, much less an angry one, but there was no way we could leave him behind. Needless to say, it made for an interesting drive home- two wolves and a growling bobcat. Once back at the haven, we needed to find a permanent home for him and thankfully the wonderful folks at Wildcat Sanctuary offered him a forever home.
