Change starts: within YOU! (in our hearts) After my last psych rotation, Ive pondered how SOCIETY allows innocent people, like those who develop dementia, or Alzheimers (entirely out of their control), to not have medical coverage, housing, etc. (there was a woman with dementia who was kept in the ward as she had nowhere to go, medi-cal didnt cover enough to help her with housing-- yet, she would pace and cry how she wanted to leave and go home...to Iowa). BUT we can house DEATH ROW INMATES who arrogantly and unremorsefully admit their crimes of killing multiple innocent children, women, murdering and rape-- YET, we give them health coverage, shelter, staff to monitor them 24 hrs/day, a balanced diet, exercise, education, the list goes on...because killing them is inhumane? Or we say, let the inmates handle them? Or its not our job to play God? I think Im in the wrong world... People value
