Chapter 5: Firelight “WEEEEEEEE!!!!!! - TopicsExpress

Chapter 5: Firelight “WEEEEEEEE!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” “Firelight, you’re going insane.” Darkwing said for the eleventy seventh time. “As usual! Don’t mind me, I’m just riding a rock wave!” I said with content while speeding along on my self-propelled rock wave. I was pushing the other two in front of myself, they were sitting reading maps and such, totally oblivious to their movement. “Firelight? Where are we going?” inquired Teddy from the giant red rock platform. “I have no idea, at least, not the name of the place. I know the land pretty well though, visited here a while back.” “Turn left.” Darkwing demanded. She doesn’t ask. “Fine, no need to be so pushy! Jeez Darkwing.” I commented while bending the rock wave. “No time to play around Firelight, we have a mission.” Darkwing said with no emotion. “Who said I was playing? Or around?” I joked, increasing my pace.Darkwing just huffed while Teddy only giggled. “Then stop making jokes and follow my instructions clearly. The path we’re about to take blocks out bending.” Darkwing said with anger rising in her voice. One piece of advice: never, ever make Darkwing mad. “Oh, sure. NOTHING blocks my bending. I mean NOTHING.” I commented with fervor. “Yes, but this does. It even blocks my magic!” Darkwing said without a trace of fear in her voice. I wasn’t really worried that it blocked out Darkwing’s magic. That girl can fight like a tiger. I wasn’t too bad myself at fighting, but I wasn’t a black belt like Darkwing. I’m always the better of the two of us with bending, but without?Darkwing will fight for anything really. I practically have to fight to the death with her for the last slice of pizza. Man, the girl loves pizza. My bending suddenly choked, causing the rock wave to freeze as if time had stopped. “We’re here.” Darkwing said in almost a whisper. We got off the rocks with only a couple of bruises and scrapes. I didn’t know where to go. I felt as if i was lost. What was I doing here again? “Fight the avoidance spell.” Darkwing said. As if it was that easy! “What avoidance spell? I thought that avoiding an avoidance spell was impossible! What are we doing here? I’m SO CONFUSED!.” said Teddy. Poor, poor naive Teddy. “You’ll soon find out that the impossible is possible with us.” Darkwing spoke jokingly. “Are we there yet, Darkwing? I can’t SEE anything!” You see, with my bending, I see through the ground as well as with my eyes. It helps when traveling so I know where I am and when fighting because even if my opponent is behind me I can still sense their position and movements. Now here I could only see with my eyes, which I find are very limiting. “We’re very close, be patient.” So I was, FOR THE NEXT TWO HOURS! Darkwing’s version of close is really far. For all I know she was as lost as I was. Even if she marked the map down to the very last detail, how does she know where we’re going? We could be going any direction and she would have no idea! It’s not like we have a compass or anything! Wait...we do have a compass....at home. I own the only compass in the house because Darkwing has her compassing spell that she uses all the time but she didn’t think to tell me beforehand that there would be a place through which we were travelling where magic and bending don’t work! “We’re here!” Darkwing announced. “Finally.” I sighed with relief. This lasted until I looked up and saw the HUGE mountain before us that I realized we would have to climb. I wouldn’t have been taken by surprise if I had my bending because I would have just felt the mountain and been prepared. It was then that I realized my bending was back! I pulled up a short pillar of rock to rest on for a minute and glorified in my returned skills.
