‘Chattanooga 360’ Virtual Tour Is Latest From Trust WASHINGTON — In connection with the 150th battle anniversary, the Civil War Trust released “Chattanooga 360,” a virtual battlefield tour that provides panoramic views of the Chattanooga battlefield and nearby historic sites, at cdn.civilwar.org/chattanooga360 The tour features panoramas of six campaign for Chattanooga sites: Lookout Mountain, Wauhatchie, Moccasin Bend, downtown Chattanooga, Orchard Knob and the National Cemetery. While it focuses on the Nov. 22-25, 1863, Battles for Chattanooga, related historical events are also noted, including the Trail of Tears, the Great Locomotive Chase and local Medal of Honor recipients since the Civil War. Images were obtained from the Library of Congress, the National Archives and the Army Heritage and Education Center. Historians Jim Ogden and Dave Powell gave their time and expertise to create the online experience.
