Check out this swollen iPhone 3gs battery! The battery on the right is a normal sized battery. The battery on the left had swollen so much that the entire iPhone had swollen and become thicker. This isnt common, but if you suspect you have a bad battery be careful as once batteries swell they can become dangerous and can burn you if they are punctured. Most batteries are covered in thick plastic to make them safer though.
