Chelseahave agreed an £8million fee with QPR for star striker Loic Remy, according to various reports. The Blues are on the hunt for a new forward after letting Fernando Torres join AC Milan on a two-year loan on Friday, pending the Spaniard agreeing personal terms and passing a medical. And Jose Mourinhoappears to have acted quickly in the transfer market by moving for the France international, who played at this summers World Cup. Remy enjoyed a highly successful loan spell with Newcastle last season, finishing as the clubs top scorer with 14 Premier Leaguegoals. However, the 27-year-old has always made it perfectly clear he wishes to play in the Champions Leagueand now looks set to get his wish with Chelsea. Remy has a staggered buy-out clause with the Hoops, meaning clubs in Europes top competition can pay just £8m to land the striker, whereas teams such as Newcastle would have to pay a higher fee. Earlier on in the summer the Frenchman look destined to join Liverpoolafter the Reds met that fee, however, in confusing circumstances it was then reported the striker failed a medical at Anfield, causing the switch to be scrapped. QPR boss Harry Redknapp questioned if that was the casebut with Chelsea now meeting Remys buy-out clause, the former Marseillestriker looks set to seal a move to Stamford Bridge. Is Remy the perfect replacement for torres???
