Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans says I believe that the biggest risk we face today is prematurely engineering restrictive monetary conditions. He feels that the Federal Reserve should err on the side of caution, and wait until the economy is on safer ground before changing the current accommodative monetary policy stance. He added that raising rates too soon could lead to an uncomfortable situation of returning to a lower zero bound environment.
