Children can teach us so much. As toddler teacher one common difficulty was separation anxiety. Children thought that since they could not see Mama and Papa, they were simply gone forever. Over and over they would see parents go and eventually they would see the parents return. When I was very sick I was aware of the possibility that I might possibly pass away at any moment. I was not afraid for the most part. I knew no matter what happened, I would eventually see loved ones in my presence again. That is what I call a peace that passes understanding. Fear, anxiety, torment, were all put in place a place so far from me that I could not even focus on them. Jesus is so jealous for my attention that He was willing to make Himself my hiding place. Even though I cannot see Him with me, I know He is present, and will never leave me or forsake me. Sometimes fearfulness vies for my attention but in reality, that is all it can do.
