Children’s Hospital will host an infant-massage class for parents from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Conference Center. The class is open to mothers and fathers of babies up to 9 months old. During the class, certified infant massage instructors Paula Rathz and Corinne Henley, child life specialists at Children’s Hospital, will teach parents how to perform infant massage on their babies. “There are many benefits to infant massage,” Henley said. “It can stimulate babies’ muscles and growth, it can provide relief from colic and constipation, and it can help with bonding and attachment. One of the major benefits is taking the time one-on-one to bond with your child.” The class is free and open to the public. However, space is limited, so registration is required. For more information or to register, please contact Rathz or Henley at (573) 219-4226, or email Rathz at [email protected].
