China 2014 Lei hou ma whanau, I will be departing Auckland on Tuesday 1 April, arriving in Hong Kong on Wednesday 2 April. I have meetings in Hong Kong on Wednesday. I will transfer from Hong Kong to Guangzhou on Thursday 3 April. I will then spend Friday 4 and Saturday 5 April (Qing Ming) with our Chinese whanau in our ancestral village of Ha Leung. I will return to Hong Kong on Sunday 6 April, in time to connect onto my flight back to Auckland (arriving Monday 7 April). This is a continuation of the visits previously undertaken and seeks to further strengthen the bond between our two peoples, cultures and historical homelands. Anyone is welcome to join me on my fourth visit home as we continue to lay the paving stones for our children and their children to retain their Chinese knowledge and identity. There are direct flights between Auckland and Guangzhou and the family village is only a few stops away from the airport on the metro. Grandad has made it significantly easier to "go home" in the last few years. There was no metro when Hayden, Amene and I first visited. The direct flights are cheaper and easier. So, let me know if you are interested in "coming home" with me. If not this visit, there will be others.
