Chronological Bible In One Year: Acts 13:13-14:28 Todays Nugget Discovered: Acts 14:14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out Paul and Barnabas hear about the crowd attributing their words to them and to their pagan (false) gods. Their response is typical of the time, they tear their clothes as a sign of great sadness and mourning. They run in the crowd and are desperate and urgent about communicating to them that this message cant be attributed to them or to these false gods. They want to point these people to the One True Living God. Its tempting to bask in the glory of people thinking you are good and that you can save them. Truth is no matter how good we think we are, we arent. And no matter how much training we have had or how many people we have led to the Lord, its not us that do the leading its the Holy Spirit that does it through us, we are just conduits. Let us be people who are alarmed when people try and place us in a place of honor that doesnt belong to us. We are merely to be messengers pointing the way to the One who has redeemed us. Its not about any of us, its about Him.
