Citrus Greening is a disease that discarded of 8,200 jobs in Florida and depleted $4.5 billion from our economy. But passing the Farm Bill in January meant an annual $25 million would be allocated to Citrus Research and Extension Initiative to help battle the disease plaguing Florida’s orange groves. There are many scientists testing ways to bring our citrus industry back. Even universities like University of Florida and University of Central Florida are on board to find a cure. Citrus Greening is a very serious threat to the existence of Florida citrus farmers and producers. We must continue working for a cure.
