College enrollment has been declining over the past few years as a result of the high cost of schooling and the lack of jobs for graduates. Although Im a huge proponent of education, theres a distinct possibility that kids and parents can expose themselves to financial peril and have to choose both colleges and majors very carefully. Unfortunately, the most employable majors today are often business, engineering or technology related. I think thats unfortunate, because liberal arts majors are almost guaranteed to be underemployed or unemployed. Its those liberal arts that give us the richness that make up society though, so theres something that we miss when those skills arent valued. The video below mostly deals with the misery liberal arts majors are encountering in the job market. Even those who come from ivy league institutions are having a tough go. I keep saying that a massive consolidation is in the offing among the colleges. Stories like this arent very encouraging as far as matriculation is concerned and if current trends continue, enrollment will continue to decline. The schools with the smaller endowments will probably be gobbled up https://youtube/watch?list=PLgawtcOBBjr-egCw7pIiR0BOhoyOL98rl&v=10ap43AzX-w
