Colossians 2:13-15 And even though you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions. He has destroyed what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross. We were dead in our sins. We could not move, could not cry out for help, and could not get the word out that we needed help. No person could save us because they were also dead in sin. Then, God reached out and pulled you from the jaws of death. Your relationship with God through Jesus Christ is evidence of the miraculous. Through Christ’s resurrection you also have been made alive. You have new life in Christ who took the full penalty for all of your sins upon Himself because it was the will of His Father in heaven to do so, and because He loves you.
