Coming up tonight on What Life Took From Me episode 16.. Montserrat wipes her mouth, disgusted at Alejandros kiss. He pushes her down on the bed. He lies down on top of her, his chest bare. He presses his mouth on hers again. She turns her face away, her expression bleak. A tear stains her cheek. She is very still. Esmeralda cant wait to give Refugio the good news: she knows where Montserrat is! But she is dismayed to find her apartment empty. José Luis has gotten hold of an old Junker of a car; He and Refugio are ready to hit the road. Why did Refugio change his mind and decide to come along? He found out that Esmeralda was the woman who poisoned Montserrat against Jose Luis. Alejandro looks down at the bed where Montserrat lays, her naked shoulders visible. Isnt she going to say anything? He just confirmed he wasnt her first lover and she feels sorry for him... Alejandros face shows his hurt. Montserrat wakes up the next morning, alone in the bed. She looks at the clothes strewn on the floor. She weeps. José Luis has been driving all night, energized by his rage. He and Refugio spot a roadblock up ahead. Hold on tight, says Jose Luis as he crashes past the barriers. The armed Navy Police fire at the car and then jump in their vehicles and give chase. Jose Luis seems elated. Lets go! The navy guys are closing in on them and the car wont go any faster. Then he has an idea. Get ready to jump, he tells Refugio. Then he makes a sharp turn and drives flat out... At the count of three, open your door. One -- two -- three! The navy police approach the site. They look down and see a huge ball of fire. Captain Robles gets the call: José Luis Álvarez is dead. Pedro and Nadia are at this moment giving a police sketch artist Jose Luiss description (though Nadia keeps contradicting her husband, obviously trying to ensure that the portrait looks nothing like its subject). Loreto interrupts them with the news that Jose Luis and Refugio are dead. Mrs. Montserrat Almonte feels like going for a drive. Dominga will ask Juventino to get the keys to one of the vans. She wants to leave.. María wonders why Alejandros wife wanted to leave. Shes sure she only married him for his money. Juventino doesnt know about that. The girl looks pretty rich herselfRefugio and José Luis are walking in the woods. They have a few scrapes and bruises but seem to have emerged from their courageous jump largely unscathed. Are they still being pursued? Refugio thinks not. Everyone probably assumes they are dead. They come to a river where they clean their wounds and rest. Alejandro kneels in front of Montserrat and begs forgiveness for the night before. He promises it will never happen again. Graciela calls Alejandro with the good news -- José Luis Álvarez is dead! Montserrat is worried when she hears her mother called. Is her father okay? Father Anselmo opens the door to a woman in a purple scarf which partly conceals her face. She is so happy to have found him. Doesnt he remember her? He peers at her closely. Rosario? Is that you? Anselmo cant believe his eyes. This is a miracle! He thought Rosario had died! After her fiancé Jacinto was killed, no one heard any news of her until her father showed up with a baby in his arms. He said that Rosario had died in childbirth. María thinks its a bad sign that Alejandro is eating in the dining room instead of sharing the kitchen table with her and her uncle. Alejandro explains that his wife is unaccustomed to eating with the help and he didnt want to make her uncomfortable. María wants to know why his wife wont be assuming the role of the house lady. Why did he marry that woman? That is personal, he tells her. Right now he needs a favor of her -- please have one of the maids prepare a room for him. Wont your wife be angry? asks María.
